USPA NEWS - Breaking News, October 9th, 2025:
Lake George wildfire in Kings County still being held this morning. Evacuees are permitted to return home today in 2 phases.

This morning, the fire appears to be held, with no significant fire areas. If conditions do not change there is a low risk that the wildfire will spread beyond the 288 hectares. Crews successfully prevented the fire's growth yesterday, despite the challenging circumstances. Yesterday's rain and the shift to cooler temperatures anticipated will aid in containment efforts. Evacuees are permitted to return home today in 2 phases.

Phase 1 of Re-Entry is scheduled for Thursday, October 9th, from 10am to 12 pm. This phase encompasses all civics located on Aylesford Lake and North River Road.
Phase 2 of Re-Entry is scheduled for Thursday, October 9th, from noon to 2pm. This phase will encompass all civics situated on Lake George and civics 3847-4955 Aylesford Rd.
Aylesford Rd Civics 6128 to 5789 must report to Fox Mountain Campground (6128) for checkpoint verification. All other civics are directed to enter through the North River Rd checkpoint, situated before Old Mill Lane. Please note that identification showing proof of residency will be required at the re-entry checkpoints.
